Organising your event in Johannesburg

Also known as Jo’burg or Jozi, Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa situated in the northern province of Gauteng. The city is in a period of transition and has an emerging new identity, making it one of the most vibrant and lively places in South Africa. Johannesburg was built after a famous 19th-century gold rush, helping to make it one of the wealthiest cities in Africa. Fast-forward 100 years and it was center stage of the gruesome apartheid era.The sobering reminders of apartheid are still visible in the wealth divide between white rich and black poor, yet Johannesburg remains a friendly city which is coming to terms with its past.

Recent gentrification has changed the face of the city and given it an exciting new identity characterised by loft apartments and office buildings as the old is converted into new. This has contributed to a flourishing of new bars, restaurants and interesting cultural spaces which are being developed by new talent, which make up much of the city’s predominantly young population.

A long history of trade and business mean that the city is the most powerful commercial centre in Africa, with more than 70% of South African companies having headquarters here. It is therefore an influential place to do business with a wide variety of meeting rooms, coworking spaces and corporate venues which can be booked instantly online.
